Brimtune Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Volodymyr Chuchman ("I", "me") about using Brimtune, a free app for macOS. By downloading or using Brimtune you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. The licence

Brimtune is free. I give you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download, install and use Brimtune on Macs you own or control, for any personal or work purpose.

You may not:

You can share the official download link freely. Brimtune and its name, icon and design remain mine; this licence doesn't transfer any ownership.

2. Other services you use with Brimtune

Brimtune works with Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Safari, Chrome, macOS Calendar and others. It shows and controls what you already play in those apps and sites, in your own browser and with your own accounts.

3. Lyrics, covers and other content

Lyrics come from LRCLIB, a community database. Covers, titles and search results come from the services listed in the Privacy Policy. All of that content belongs to its owners. Brimtune shows it to you for personal use while you listen; don't copy or republish it.

4. macOS features

Some Brimtune features, such as showing on the lock screen and reading what's playing, rely on macOS behaviour that Apple doesn't document and may change in any macOS update. They may stop working on newer versions of macOS.

5. Updates

Brimtune checks for updates about once a day and when you choose "Check for Updates…". Updates are signed, and Brimtune installs only updates signed by me. I may change, add or remove features, or stop making Brimtune, at any time.

6. Privacy

How Brimtune handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. No warranty

Brimtune is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with your Mac or the services you use.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Brimtune. Since Brimtune is free, my total liability for any claim is limited to USD 0, or the minimum amount the applicable law allows if that is higher. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

9. Ending the licence

You can stop using Brimtune at any time by deleting it. If you break these terms, your licence ends automatically and you must delete Brimtune. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 10 still apply afterwards.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

11. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date; using Brimtune after that means you accept it.

12. Trademarks

Apple, Apple Music, Mac, macOS, Safari and Dynamic Island are trademarks of Apple Inc. YouTube and YouTube Music are trademarks of Google LLC. Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB. Other names belong to their owners. They're mentioned only to describe what Brimtune works with.
